Photographer Overview
I am a newborn and maternity photographer based in Carleton Place, ON (just west of Ottawa). I began working with photography in 2011 as a wildlife and nature photographer. Prior to that I had experience in graphic design and had studied many types of art throughout my life. I started doing pet photography in 2012, as animals have always been a passion. Although I am no longer focusing on pet photography, I do still do charity pet photos for New Moon Rabbit Rescue at a variety of locations, and I help take photos of rescued cats for the Hungry and Homeless Cat Rescue in Ottawa.
After the arrival of my son in July of 2014, I started expanding my photography to include newborns, babies, and families. I had a little bit of experience photographing friends and family prior to that, but having a baby of my own gave me a love of tiny new subjects! While working as a newborn photographer it was inevitable that I would eventually also work with expecting moms, and after my first session I was in love with the style! As a result, I have chosen to refocus my photography on newborns and expecting moms more than the animals and nature that originally drove my passion. In my spare time I still like to get out in nature, and still love photographing birds, animals, flowers, and beautiful landscapes.
