Photographer Overview
Because your memories are precious… because children grow and change so fast… because their faces make the best art… because portraits should capture their essence… because they deserve memories they will cherish when they are grown… because you can capture a lifetime of memories in every image! These are my motivations for photographing children and starting LBV Baby Boutique Portraits.
In August of 2012, my husband Kevin and I took our children to a beach vacation at Hilton Head Island, SC. When packing my children’s clothes, I came across a little sailor outfit I had been saving for my daughter. I thought back to our last vacation in Hilton Head, when I was newly pregnant with Kensey, and our son Cooper was 2.5 years old…
As I stood in Kensey’s room holding the little sailor outfit, my mind kept traveling back to the 2009 vacation, and the single most perfect image I’ve ever captured of Cooper. You can see the image and read about that experience here. I had Cooper’s beach portrait printed as a 20×30 canvas, my first large wall portrait, and it still hangs in our home today. I knew that I had to create the same for my daugther, Kensey.
The last night of our vacation, nana, papa, grammie and mommy all headed to the beach with Kensey in her little sailor outfit and matching hat. I chose one spot in the dunes, and one spot on the beach and just let her play. The laughing images are genuine and sparked with the mention of “papa’s stinky underpants”. These images are inarguably genuine and show the essence of my daughter at 2 years-old. I chose my 20 favorite images and put them in a beautiful chocolate brocade album with cream linen mats. Every time I look at the images my heart melts. I can only imagine what these images will mean to my daughter as she grows into a woman, and to my grandchildren as they are able to enjoy their mother as a toddler. I can’t tell you how much it would mean to me to have an album like this of my mother…
I feel from the bottom of my heart, that being able to provide images like these to Kensey and Cooper, allowing such vibrant documentation of their childhood is a blessing. This is my gift to my children.
My sincerest hope for each of my clients is that they see the value in this gift and allow me to help them create an heirloom for their child to enjoy when they are grown. I do my very best to capture a lifetime of memories with every image.
