Photographer Overview

Welcome, and hello! I am Jodi Betancourt. I am not just an Orange County Newborn Photographer, but: a wife, proud mother, auntie, artist and friend.  When I am happiest, I am with my husband and my sweet little boys, Liam and Preston.  It doesn't matter what we're doing, as long as I'm with them...of course during those moments all I want is to have a photographer follow me around and document all my family moments so I can be included IN the memories, and not just behind the camera! HA HA...I know how important it is to capture the teeny, tiny details...the sweet glances at each other and everything in between.

I specialize in natural light photography and prefer to use available light whenever possible both for its beauty and for the natural style it lends to a finished portrait.  Even in my studio, the lights are off.  I use window light to illuminate the delicate skin of a baby or create a dramatic silhouette of a figure.

I love creating fine art with color and light.  That doesn't mean I don't create black and white portraits as well.  Client galleries are an array of work tailored to their preferences and edited to my style.  I love working with rich colors, dramatic light, interesting angles, and spontaneity in posing. That is how I would describe my outdoor work.  Full of liveliness.  Of course I can't forget my indoor sessions: the little ones.  Sweet sleepy newborns and virtuous babies.  Soft skin and bright twinkling eyes.  I adore getting to know babies and figuring out what makes them tick.  Capturing all of their priceless expressions and little quirks.  I enjoy experimenting with new things, collecting unique props, visiting new locations.  I strive for my work to always be changing, to always be growing.
