Photographer Overview

nzaPhotography, LLC  is owned and operated in Louisville, Kentucky by me - Nicole Zirnheld Aldridge.

I have always had a passion for all forms of art ever since I was little. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western Kentucky University where I studied Advertising and Graphic Design. I then went on to work professionally as an Art Director and Web Designer for several years before becoming a stay-at-home mother to my three children.

I started getting serious about photography after becoming a mom and during my work as a birth doula. My clients liked my work so much that they asked me to photograph their babies.

Photography was a natural extension to my background in design and also allowed me to explore my creativity while still being able to stay home with my young children. I began learning everything I could about the craft and still continue to learn everyday.

nzaPhotography, LLC officially opened for business in January 2011 after many years of practice and much hard work. My next dream came true when I opened my studio in October of the same year at the Mellwood Art Center located on Mellwood Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky.

Besides being a mom, a photographer and a Certified Birth Doula, I am also a former Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, who created and taught a unique and self-designed curriculum called Believe In Birth.I have trained over 300 couples in natural birth and attended over 130 births as a doula.

In October of 2012, I became an Affiliated Photographer with Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep - an organization that provides the gift of remembrance photography to parents suffering the loss of a baby.
